Special Issue on Retinal Prosthesis
Call for Papers
Retinal prosthesis is one of remedies to partially regain visual sensation for blind patients suffered from
retinitis pigmentosa and age-related macular degeneration. A number of studies on retinal prosthesis have
been reported so far. Although some of them have already been commercialized, much effort is still required
to achieve more high-quality vision for blind patients. For that end, it is essential to introduce advanced
device and material technologies in retinal prosthesis. This special issue will focus on the state-of-the-art
retinal prosthesis technologies using such as high-performance stimulus electrodes, biocompatible materials,
optical sensing devices, and stimulator devices.
